![]() A PossessionA Poem by KeeD![]() 2012 poem reworked![]() There was an old eerie house abandoned upon a hill Forgotten by the earth in its atmosphere, it laid still One dark November night A car broke down, no help in sight A family sought shelter from the cold A fire, they lit, for the lights were out Young Elise turned 15 this coming June A big girl now she walked alone to the storage room She found a key that opened a gate Curious about where it fit she had to investigate Elise took a stroll and spotted a well She walked towards it, in the waters charm she fell Peering at the water she saw her own reflection She jumped in for a swim for further inspection No sign of their daughter her parents started to fear Her Mother led the search for her She found young Elise drowning in the well Screaming, "mother, help me, I'm being pulled into hell" Her father rushed to grab her hand A human man, mortal chance did he stand He saw the devil in her eyes He struggled in the tug o' war for his daughter's life A devious voice acknowledged him "I dwell within; I the bearer of sin" Release your daughter, it's her time For possession of her soul is rightfully mine! © 2019 KeeD |
