Open Window

Open Window

A Poem by KeeD

Some dreams aren't meant to be forgotten

Sometimes the pain is better left unspoken

I won't forget you even though I've been taken for granted

I'm not leaving this relationship empty handed

I know how to love, I now know how to heal from the hurt

Seeking the truth leaves the heart with a void full of dirt

So it's best to let everything go and let the tide wash away with sorrow

All the memories and the possibilities of a you and a me

Life's an open window and I've just started to look outside

No more a great divide between you and living my life

I see opportunity to be a happy me, I just might take the leap

Run out and breathe, feel free even though I miss you there

Jump fences and take chances, maybe that's what I was missing

the ability to run and never stop believing in my own capability

I finally see my reflection and i'm not afraid to be me

The music might get a tad loud. I add music cause it speaks to me when reading poetry, it might not be for everyone and I apologize for that <3

I'm in agreement with Frieda on this one. Some people do come into our lives for a reason, whatever the reason may be. I loved this one Kee, it just...spoke to me!

You know what they say, people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime, if we learn something about ourselves in the interim, it's all good. Even though it still smarts, it's a memory to be savored especially if it brings you sweet poetry....

Are you having an identity crisis with all the name changes luv? ;-) Mwah!

I think you do just fine on your own Kee...always a pleasure my friend. ;-)
sometimes even in deep hurt, a relationship has its benefits...we learn to deal with pain, we learn that we can heal, we learn that we can love again.
