Garden of the deceased

Garden of the deceased

A Poem by KeeD

 photo Region7_Cemetery4_zps49c10a57.jpg

The rain poured today

The sun starts to mourn

As I placed my wife into a field of stone

The flowers don't know

My tears help them grow

will they ever bloom once more?

Time runs thin

and will eventually win

when my heart gives in

They dig a hole nice and deep

Here my body they shall keep

Awaiting eternal sleep

My cycle of life has come to end

I miss my wife, my one true friend

Into your arms, I shall ascend

from the garden of the deceased

I like your style. It is clean and clear and dark. Stripped of pretense.

Thank you KLGoode
This is such a gorgeous (and very sad) piece, but extremely touching. I find it fascinating that you switched points-of-view in the fourth stanza to that of the person being buried (or at least that's how it sounds).

It also seems to end on a positive note, if I'm not mistaken; you reference the "cycle of tears," and then in saying that "even in death there is life," it sounds as though death is not the end. I believe that way as well. I hope that writing this poem was therapeutic for you!

You're very welcome.
This was a beautifully haunting vision of the world of life and death. Each word seemed so perfectly connected to the next, flowing the feelings and fire of earth and ash. So though provoking. I also want to thank you for reviewing my recent story. It would not allow me to comment!
