Metal - A Resurrection

Metal - A Resurrection

A Poem by KeeD

So far I've been living as a different me
I wish I could rewind and be seventeen and free
standing in line all night to get tickets to watch
Lacuna Coil and witness my metal child come to life

Most of all I want to be in the crowd
Watching people surf above and scream and shout
As Cristina sings out "Set me free heavens a lie"
I want to feel my past shatter and die

Symphonic Metal never tasted good
to the parents who always misunderstood
this genre of music that scorched the soul
it helped me through the bitter cold

I'm getting older now
and like a breeze the years pass me by
Will my love for Metal subside
As my earthly responsibilities start to collide

Enjoy the silence
of growing older
I'm ashing into the furnace
Nothing but fragments of dust as the dull mind grows colder

Metal seep into my life again
capture me, I am spellbound
Trip the Darkness
Resurrect my musicless carcass

I don't want to f*****g die listening to
another sixteen year old boy attempt to sing.

Realizing that i'm getting older but still attached to the music I grew up with. So not impressed with the pop mainstream stuff released these days..
