The Game

The Game

A Poem by KeeD

Many say the devil is fierce
Fear and terror is the devils identity
Seeking to destroy all divinity
This might be true I'll tell you my story
The devil seeks more than the destruction of divinity
The face of evil was placed before my eyes
In my best friend was where the devil lies
Earning my trust and love through the years
Sinking into temptation for him I shed tears
I thought the game was over when his face was revealed
But my mind couldn't conceive being deceived
So I missed it, I couldn't figure out it was him
The devil continued to surround me with sin
He took the shape of my heart and molded it into a girl
Made me love everything about her from the very start
She peered into my mind and found a taste for what I like
Duplicated it and gift wrapped it with lies
She played my emotions like a harp
Sinking slowly her melody of hatred into my soul
Soon the devil was closer to accomplishing his goal
He made me see that love was a lie
The devil made me contemplate taking my own life
To see me at my very end, the lowest of lows
Made the devils ego grow some more
Now he keeps reminding me that she's with another guy
Who used to be my best friend oh wait that was the devil himself
So maybe he was behind it all after all
But lesson learned, love is indeed a lie
It's just the devils way of manipulating lives
It's like i'm part of a game of chess
between God and the Devil
I feel so helpless
