Olaf, the Berserker

Olaf, the Berserker

A Poem by KeeD
"

another league of legends character poem

"

Olaf beard so white

capture the chill of a Nordic night

Mountain of a man

with Ragnarok in hand

Fierce in sea, brutal on land

Death is a thing to be feared

Absurd is the word Olaf would reply

Viking by nature, you shall kill or die

The berserker lives for the clash of steel

and will die for the roar of the battle cry

In the cruel times of winters claw

Olaf rocked the glaciers with his law

Surrender to the blood lust

last breath would only suffice

if life was taken as a warriors death

Olaf stormed the night in search of a fight

faced a monster that consumed man and ship alike

hurled himself into the blackness of its maw

as he fell deeper into the blackness of his mind

the shock of freezing water aroused him from the dark

the butchered carcass of the beast afloat beside him

Odin's blessings had jolted his skin

bones and fangs wrapped around his fist

as the monster thus ceased to exist

Olaf then took the ferry to the nether realm

To carve his legacy into hell itself

this Viking would stand victorious

against the cunning devil himself

Truly alive against the jaws of death

his tale no mortal shall ever forget

Lo there, do I see my father,
Lo there, do I see my mother, my sisters and brothers,
Lo there, do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning,
Lo, they do call to me, they bid me take my place among them,
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

"Olaf then took the ferry to the nether realm" All throughout your amazing poem, your hero (?) exuded such confidence in himself. So had you your readers believe! But yaa i would really like to know where the likes of your Olaf get their continuous source of fury from... the secret to their Livido :p

Interesting! You've joined Viking and Nordic stories with the pace and energy of a hard rock song. It is truly an enjoyable read throughout :)

One of my favorite words. "Berserker." I learn the word reading India Myth somewhere. I enjoyed the tale in the poem. A Berserker after tasting blood can kill 20 men in seconds. A strong character in the poem. I wanted to read more and learn of the adventures of Olaf. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A very brilliant narration indeed, Keegan. I like the fact that the background music only increases the effectiveness of this poem. I would use the idea in my next poem :P Can you tell me how you inserted the music?

Always a pleasure :)
This is a wonderful write. It kinda reminds me of either The lord of the rings like it has that kind of really (Is that weird?) and it has a very cool Viking thing to it. I like it! Great job!

Thank you Amanda :D it does have that ancient lotr feel to it :D
A wonderfully descriptive poem. I got a little lost on the first read, but coming back now with fresh eyes (and coffee) for a second pass I found it much clearer (somehow). I love a poem that tell a story, rather than just overindulges in flashing language. This is a good balance.
