The Change

The Change

A Poem by KeeD

Educated to be an a*****e

this is my distress call

as the city looks up at me with envy

Seated in a boardroom

filled with aristocratic goons

Crying out depravity

Urge for success

is the true meaning of loneliness

searching the city for one night stands

As I use and deceive

Self satisfactory aim to please

Such a broken man

Climb to the top

step by step the good people

they crumble and drop

Now at the peak of my career

Making the skyline appear

As the horizon clouds the world with fear

What have I truly achieved

Besides permanent enemies

Success is such a disease

Time to make changes

Wake up and realize

there's more importance to life

Drive down to Boston

run for a cause

escape from the past

(bombs blast)

Now at the marathon finish line

I start to appreciate life

as death flashes before my eyes

wow, where this one went....what a surprise...a rude awakening for the speaker.

change of life and attitude kind of situation.

this is terrific stuff...and isn't it so sad that something like this has to happen to change people from being a******s..

I like it. When you mentioned Boston were you talking about what happened their recently? All I know is that some bombs went off and there was like three deaths and hundred some injured. I think that is what I heard. I could be wrong but just wondering if that was what you were thinking of.
