Morocco

Morocco

A Poem by KeeD

Close your eyes open the gates

To the Carnival of mind

Let senses relax and rewind

Enter the motherland

Welcome to the city of Morocco

Politics and Religion here you shall not find

Lay on a hammock and have a good time

Escape from all the troubles of the world

Settle in Morocco its heaven on earth

Many a mix of elements you shall find

Templar's and Bards from once upon a time

Walking the streets of sand under feet

Chilled beer to beat the scorching heat

Locals are always so nice

The feed you food with plenty of spice

Houses built like giant tents

Families friends all living content

Morocco stands house to the peaceful mind

Pain and suffering here you can't find

Enter into an unharmed palace

The will of Morocco's soul can never be tainted

Dream amazing dreams my sleeping child

For the world is cruel wicked and wild

Let your worries hang for another day

Surf those waves in the Mediterranean bay

We'll someday be in Morocco again

Building castles in the white sand

Fly kites in the sun and run in the rain

Eating shawarmas hoping the day never ends

wonderfully written, with fluidity, capturing the enticing imagery of Morocco, accurately. My Father was station there, in the Peace Corps. and my Mom flew over there to be with him in the 60's, and this is basically how they both described their experience. Very
dreamy, serene and mysterious
Anyhow...back to this...
This is one of my favorites I really enjoyed reading from you, Keegan :)

Daddy and you will see mommy again

We'll build Castles in the Moroccan sand

Fly kites in the sun and run in the rain

We'll eat shawarma's over and over again.

--- while the entire poem lends itself to a unique, magical imagery
you wove, those two last stanzas are my favorite in this poem.

great job, pen on :)

likewise..
Honestly if my father tried to tell me a story as beautiful as that with my eyes closed I would end up rolling around and nyan-ing at it like a dumbass, cause that's what this story poem made me do! This was awesome sauce!!!!! :D The music went along...I was going crazy like where, where the hell is it coming from...*few seconds of search* Whatever it goes nicely with it, *scrolls down after i finish* oh...........pssh i knew that *shifty eyes* Beautiful poem Keegan, I enjoyed rolling around like twinkie like I was a high.

You just did something no other piece of work has been able to do to date: You made me cry. Thank you. I don't give high praise easily, but this poem was absolutely beautiful and relaxing.
