Gaia

Gaia

A Poem by KeeD
"

Gaia what has our world come to

"

 photo GAIA_zps36444c78.jpg

The texture of soil against palm

The crashing of ocean against rock

Gaia my creator I can feel your presence

Drift me away to the promise land

Unite heart with ancestors leave flesh behind

The tranquility in the air

Like your breath upon my cheek

Gaia you have raised me

A son of yours grown into a man

In your name O' protector of land

Sleep takes me on journeys

To find your subtle touch

Gaia goddess of the universe

Balance the boundaries

Between heaven and earth

In the gale of the storm

I feel your anguish

Gaia destroyer of time

Confide in me your child

For it is our fault forgive us

Failure to understand your loving plan

Take me aboard your starry skies

Gaia celestial constellations for eyes

Show me the world you envisioned

Let me speak your tongue so all can understand

Gaia Have mercy on us save our land.

Author's Note

KeeD
The poet introduces nature as the creation of Gaia (Creator of the Universe). He then pleads with her to take him up to heaven so he can talk to the goddess about the way her beautiful creations have gone corrupt. He asks Goddess Gaia to show him a way to stop the destruction and save the world.

I don't see anything that should be changed, this is precious. I just witnessed a humble conversation between man, and a higher power. Whatever we believe in and worship, the hour will come when we will feel the need to ask for mercy...the God I believe in will deliver me from damnation. The Goddess you write of...she's an entity that lives in all of us. We have the ability to create and destroy...but we abuse it...Gaia begot Mother earth...so we are responsible for her babe. If we destroy it...we destroy the Goddess within us and anger the God that rules above us.

I love your writings like this, they're so ...powerful. I can't find the words right now, but I really enjoy your writing. You have a gift with words to say the least.

She is so fertile, and such a green, and blue sky mother... :) this was a beautiful serene write, and ode to our gaia. I truly enjoyed the selfless factor of it. For you're humble because you came out of the earth, and you're touched by it's purity. Fantastic.

Always good to see our youth one with the universe. There is so much more to life others fail to see while ignorance becomes their bliss. Excellent read and write.

I love that. Very powerful images to start with. Maybe try ending with images just as powerful and tangible. You're a very effective writer. I could almost smell the Earth as I read it. Another brilliant piece.

Thank you Kee :)
This is great! I love the concept and the meter problem is non-existant. The cadence reminds me of an ancient prayer. Good work.
