A Heart Needs Its BeatA Poem by KeatonLouis
It's like a record, without a player
Is just a collection It's like a breath, without its air A ride without its fair It's a compass without direction It's like a mold, without its teeth It's a bad impression It's like a drug, without its disease A leaf without its tree Is always second guessing It's like cards, without its game Is just a deck It's like wings, without its plane A track without its train Is your alternate method It's like a four-leaf clover, without its wish Is just a thought It's like a love, without its kiss A sea without fish Is the chance you never got It's like a song, without its instruments Is just a story It's like an action, without its reason A winter without its seasons Is just a Monday morning It's like s nightmare, without its fear Is just an empty feeling It's like a sadness, without it's tears A month without its year Is just your sanity peeling It's like s promise, without its truth Is just a lie It's like a photo, without its booth A pain without its bruise Is letting your memories die It's like a child, without its parents Is just an Orphan It's like a flat tire, without its spare A spark without its flare Is a cheap bottle of wine with no cork in It's like one foot in the door, when, the floor boards bend & sends More friends you adore, to abort your mends Like Thor, reborn again, with the strength of ten men Supporting the stories and lore we created then, with them Exploring for, new beginnings A different ending & getting rid of these s****y morals That sleep in my bed, snoring, and keeping me from sorting through My morning of enormous hurdles Towards more of a mortal core Instead of cutting the cord, to short Before the shore suffocates from old water and beached coral © 2013 KeatonLouisAuthor's Note
