Chapter 5A Chapter by I've Killed LionsThese four walls, my prison continued to hold me as I awaited the answer from my question “where am I?” The man known as M looked up at me and gave a little smirk. It sickened me. With his very eyes penetrating my being he answered. “Why you are in a base of what you could call a rebellion.” He answered “A rebellion,” I exclaimed, the rolling of that word off my tongue felt weird, “than why am I Here?” He looked at me and whispered a single word… “Recruitment.” “Why me,” I asked now in a panic. “Because you are young and useful,” he said. “What could I possibly do” I asked, “but more importantly… what is the rebellion for?” “It is for one cause and on cause alone, ever since it happened communications with other countries have come to a stop, but we know the truth. The truth is a despicable one and we need to spread it… even if it is the last thing we do” He answered getting louder as he progressed. “What is this truth?” I asked. “You have to become a part of us first before I can tell you.” He replied, calming down again. ` “What about my friends?” “Boy, you have a lot of questions… all of them will be answered in the right timing. Until them you have no need to worry about such things. Join us and you will know the truth which will set you free.” “That part was a little cliché don’t you think” I couldn’t help but smile. It was funny. I was here tied up laughing at the man who put me here because the words that came out of his mouth were cliché. The facts were apparent. I was stuck, still tied to a chair. I was in obviously no position to mouth back, yet I did. It was my comfort to face fear with humor. My friends were missing and I was worried. In the midst of my thoughts the man stood up came over and untied the ropes that held me. Things might be looking up from here. He took my arm and brought me to the hallway. We entered the fourth door on the right (I only remember because I counted them to take my mind of all the worry). It was when we entered the door that I couldn’t help but smile. There they were, my friends sitting down without their hands tied. We greeted each other with big hugs until we were forced to sit down and in front of us were three people. My man M and two other ladies. Okay, this was it… the truth is about to be told. © 2011 I've Killed Lions |
