Outsiders Blindness

Outsiders Blindness

A Poem by I've Killed Lions

In a puzzle of 1000 pieces,
I always seem to be the extra piece left behind,
No where to fit,
Even if I try,
I get shoved into a group,
I'm an awkward aspect,
So I just lurk behind,
If no one sees me then there's no necessity,
No need to find a place,
No need to squeeze in,
No need to cover myself,
Only in the shadows can I possibly be me,
But there are always eyes,
Always someone watching,
So i'm always hiding,
Always covering up,
And now I don't even know the real me,
Identity lost to others stereotypes,
Fitting in is overrated,
Is it worth losing yourself to please others?
When people barely ever stick around for long,
So why try so hard to care about what they care about,
Why fill yourself with other peoples worries,
Your life has enough worries for you already,
Shells of self-conscienceness keeps you bound,
Their thoughts like a mirror in a carnival,
Stretching and twisting your self image,
It takes blindness to actually see,
Blindness of what others see to see yourself being you.

It seems to me that you have a very distinct way of writing. One that you have certainly made your own in every aspect. It is refreshing, a lot of us tend to follow the general poetic stylings. I know I do, I hardly stray too far from the norm myself.
I congratulate you on another fantastic poem. You are rapidly becoming someone whos writings I will enjoy reading.
