Lies from the truth

Lies from the truth

A Poem by Kevin Doran
"

A poem concerning truth and lies...First year second semester.

"

I've found out that an old friend lies.

He showed me lots of things,

How to read, how-to, count;

One bat, Two bats, Three bats.

Then he told me how to make things;

Here’s one I made earlier!

PVA glue and sticky tape,

They solved all the problems.

But now I don't know,

the lies from truth.

Global warming is on the rise,

Global cooling will save us all,

Everything gives you cancer,

We're all going to live forever.

How will I know which bits are real

If only kids are told facts?

This one touched a nerve. I often feel betrayed by my parents who want to take credit for the good things I've done yet did not teach me the very thing that made me succeed. They stand so proud. Lies from the truth. Love it!!
