Past SuffrageA Poem by KODAOnce in the past, I see what you feel in the present. I'll do what I can to help you out of that suffering. There is no face to my name. No voice to my words. But please, take me seriously; Even with this anonymity. Though our distance is rather large, I still carry a heart. Ignoring your cry of help Is something I simply cannot and will not do. Our time together was rather short. Through time we suffered the same. I, the past and you, the present. I saw myself in those words of resentment. Through the screen and a blinking line, Like the clock hand, still ticking in time I know the pain The sorrow The guilt And how you feel like nothing but filth So I pray my words hit as deep As the scars you carve to make red seep. If it’s advice you want, it’s advice you’ll get. Don’t dwell on it long, and please don’t fret. It takes time to heal, but courage to feel. © 2020 KODA |
