Evanescence

Evanescence

A Poem by KODA
"

Memories fade no matter how hard you cling to them. No matter how precious they seemed, eventually they too will leave.

"

Hey, can you hear it?
the sound of death
as it reverberates
and slowly
relocates.

The mourning

The sadness

Once felt by some

Like a loud and beating drum.

Their hearts will grow

And they will show

The essence of that passing

Will be endowed.

The memory of the dead

Once so crisp and so clear,

Will slowly wither away
no matter how dear.

So they’ve said

Memories won’t fade.

Even if you try

With a wish and a cry

For a miracle in time.

The dead will not stir

And they’ll become an echo
Of what they once were.
