Singularity

Singularity

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
Bring together blue, green and red,
and that perfect white comes to live.
Make a sound of no sameness,
and it'll become a danceable Melody.

Same attitude with no differences
would only make life a tasteless dish.
Our singularity isn't in our similarities
but in the togetherness of our differences.

A great message and very apt given the things happening in the USA. Singularity of course indicates things spinning out of control but your message is a unifying one Kay. A nicely packaged verse.

The poet seems to be saying that diversity adds flavor to life. I can deal with that. Many can't.

I agree if we were all like clones and thought looked felt and acted alike the world would soon stop ✋
Loved your message here

Yes I agree dear Kay. I do prefer the rainbow over the yellow sunshine. Beauty is in diversity and not in singularity as you call it here. Monotony is not for me. Excellent thinking.

Too true...life would be boring if we were all the same ...being different makes us who we are even though we’ll never be everyone’s cup of tea....great words 🌹

I love your highly original way of conveying this important life message. On Facebook, I create my own memes using Photoshop & the one I do most often is "Diversity Rocks" (I use different photos showing multi-colored people & animals). Your poem brings to mind how we in the USA once had a black president & many people railed against him. During this election, we had a gay candidate for president & he did very good, but he just dropped out of the race. He was such an intelligent, honorable statesmanlike candidate, many in our country were buoyed simply by the IDEA that we could have a gay president (or any other unusual trait, like being a woman!) It's both painful to see these diversities rejected by many, but also hopeful to see how each time the tolerance for "others" is increased a little bit. Your poem reminds me of that struggle & progress here (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
