My Valentine

My Valentine

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
Whistling across the garden of roses and lilies,
I saw Nightingales singing songs of healing.
Cascades of rain, the gift the sky would give,
Dropping upon me, blessing my soul with peace.
Blue morpho butterflies in their majestic majesty,
flung me into fantasy, far in the world of the fairy.
Night came too soon to cut the story short,
but there came fireflies like an army to save me.
"Have the best view as you watch the fireflies dancing."
Chorused the natural crew, wishing me a wonderful Valentine.

Gentle, wonderful and amazing words shared my friend.
"I saw Nightingales singing songs of healing.
Cascades of rain, the gift the sky would give,
Dropping upon me, blessing my soul with peace."
I loved the above lines and thank you kay for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Really enjoyed the romantic tone throughout, you set up such a vivid stage for this to play out on. Great write.

As one who's been "alone" all my life (ha! ha!) . . . I love that you show how NOT ALONE this can be! There is so much more OUT THERE than boring candy & perfectly-cut roses . . . every day can be Valentines Day, the way you paint it here. In some cases, I might read "majestic majesty" as being redundant, but in this case, I like the emphasis & also how it sounds with the word "fantasy" just a little bit down the pike. All in all, you are my Valentine hero with this one! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I love your take on the day. It’s a bit of romance with nature where the poet falls in love with the scene and becomes immersed. It’s a pure moment that would be lovely to experience any day. In reality or imagination.

I really enjoyed your approach with this. It was unexpected, and it’s always nice to be surprised.

You are an amazing poet!
I love how you can paint a world with only a few words, that's beautiful. Always wanted to see a blue morpho. Happy late Valentine's day.

Has the sound of a fantasy with a Valentine's Day theme. Very vivid imagery, dreamlike and pleasing. Don't think I've ever seen a blue morpho butterfly.

Roses, lilies, nightingales, butterflies and fireflies certainly provide me with some spectacular imagery. There is also an element of romance about each one of them. Put them in the mix all together you have created a wonderful fantasy. Stimulation of the senses. Sight, sound and scent. Happy Valentine's day Kay.
