Little Isn't Little

Little Isn't Little

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"

Little light in darkness compensates vision.

Little breeze in summer caress the skin.

Just a little flame could create warmth.

And a drop of water could cool the heat.

Simple sorry could end a great war.

Simple smile could bring reconciliation.

Simple embrace could warmth the heart,

As a sweet imagination would make men fly.

A pinch of salt could change the taste,

A flinch of thought could heal the pain.

A clinch of love could save the day,

Like an handful of help could make men great.

I don't think anything is too little to be neglected. No matter how little it might be, I don't think it's really little because it has the tendency of making a change.

What do you think?

Baby steps are little, but they still get where they are going. Small changes can lead to big things and change our way of thinking and living. If it weren't for people taking and making those changes, we would still be in caves. No matter how big the challenge.
Enjoyed this. Thought provoking.

Thank you so much, Lorry.
The voyage of a thousand miles begins with a single step...so said Confucius or some other ancient philosopher.
What if all it took was a single step to extend a hand in friendship? Would it change the world? No, but it just might change a heart...and that's a beginning.

Good write, Kay.

Thank you so much, Korin.
Love the way you use many recognizable examples to make your point. This is the meaning of "SHOW instead of tell." Becuz you state each line so simply, without the distraction of fancy word crafting, each example is like a bouncing launch for my mind, pondering each idea you present . . . and it's so true . . . we notice the thing that comes in the tiniest amount the MOST, especially when it contrasts with the ambient situation! You taught me to SHOW more than to TELL.
Little is not small by a long shot, like the song by Jackie DeShannon put a little love in your heart,a little smile an act so kind can create wonders. A very nice little poem W R Stowe

you are welcome
I think you have penned a very spiritual work here. The world is obsessed with bigness, convinced nothing exceeds like excess. This poem argues for economy, for the light touch. If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be. Very nice.

i just love this piece....and agree wholeheartedly...i have always enjoyed the little things in life and felt they were much more important than what others consider the important, Big things.
simple gestures...a little politeness and love go a long way.

Beautiful review here, J.
I really appreciate it.
Seems absolutes and relatives must be considered in context. All brilliant observations here and natural blessings to humankind. Well said!
