Salvation.

Salvation.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"
When I thought all was over,
When I thought the beginning was the end.
When life turned upside down,
And the sun was far from the earth,
When darkness grip my heart,
Encumbering my mind with fear.
Down on my knees I cried,
Praying for heaven to come and help.

When the sky was coming down on me,
When the earth was sinking below my feet,
When the Stars are twinkling darkness,
And the moon turned its back at me..
When my hope was quietly dying,
And rainbows of death overshadowed me,
I called on to my father in heaven,
Who came in haste to rescue me.

I'm glad you found satisfaction in this.
Thank you for loving it, Julie.
Has the sound of a miracle to it. Also has the sound of a real experience. Though no specific details are given, evidently the speaker was going through an ordeal. The poem makes good use of imagery in describing the feelings of abandonment experienced. Apparently it was the darkness before the dawn, because prayers were answered and a deliverance occurred. It demonstrates well the power of faith.

I like this, it has a huge sense of hope, like we can be in the worst place we'll ever be in and if we just ask we'll be saved, it's lovely and true.

Yes.
Thank you for your review too, Fay.
You are a lucky person to feel this way. Many have no belief system and therefore no one to turn to. I'm sure God listens and knows before we do what we need.

A good honest poem. Nice job.

faith can move mountains...so they say...and whether that is true or not...you write with such a positive outlook here...that in our darkest hour...light can come if we have the faith it will.
this had me humming Elton John's song "Salvation"---fitting.
