Salvation.

Salvation.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"
When I thought all was over,
When I thought the beginning was the end.
When life turned upside down,
And the sun was far from the earth,
When darkness grip my heart,
Encumbering my mind with fear.
Down on my knees I cried,
Praying for heaven to come and help.

When the sky was coming down on me,
When the earth was sinking below my feet,
When the Stars are twinkling darkness,
And the moon turned its back at me..
When my hope was quietly dying,
And rainbows of death overshadowed me,
I called on to my father in heaven,
Who came in haste to rescue me.

We can only know joy and happiness if we know its opposites as well. Sometimes sadness feels like an old friend when it overstays its welcome, but is at this point we can think that this moment will not last and hopefully be forgotten in future happiness.
Nicely done. Just one suggestion,

Stirring imagery, so stark and visceral… yet, ultimately uplifting.

You're very welcome.
God uses these desperate times to remind us how much we rely on him to pull us through. Its so easy to forget that without the grace of God, it could be so much worse. This is a good reminder. Thanks kay

I like it the story is sad emotional and happy at the same time. It speaks to the soul and encourages others since many go through times where they feel hopeless. I thank you for encouraging and spreading the word of the Father, our Lord God.

I'm glad for you, Kay, that you "called on to my father in heaven,
Who came in haste to rescue me". For most people who call to their god, they never here from him. Religion is a mystifying medicine in that it cures some and not others.

Good job!

'.. When the sky was coming down on me, .. When the earth was sinking below my feet, .. When the Stars are twinkling darkness, .. And the moon turned its back at me.. When .. .. .. '

Happens that faith in some form or another is there if truly wanted. Human beings live in today's buzzyness, not always willing or able to hold out a hand or whisper a kind word or few.. BUT, if one feels faith in a Being unseen but absolutely felt, the breath of relief, the moments of peace and comfort can be, usually are .. hard to describe but ever available without condemnation.

Your words echo that so very beautifully. You've found more than a generous friend..
