Though not overtly religious, this is a very spiritual poem. It teaches the same lesson about life that is found in the great spiritual traditions. Don't judge life by a superficial reading. Peruse it carefully and thoughtfully, and all questions will be answered.

Exactly!
Thank you for the thoughtful response, John.
There is no hidden secret to life. All we have to do is turn up and live it. Sadly some people do not live it, they hide from it. Interesting lines Kay.

Thank you so much for the wonderful response, Chris.
Mine came in a language I cannot understand, written by the same people who write DIY manuals, and I seem to have mislaid it too.
I'll get it right, one day. Hopefully 😀
Altho I love what you're saying & how you say it & I believe it to be true, what strikes me (as a writer among writers) is thinking about your msg in reverse. As a writer growing older (63) I have learned to go by the old adage: "trust your material". Sometimes writers want to be artsy-fartsy (I have a bad habit of this myself) & sometimes we embellish just becuz it's fun to do. But with the really serious stories taken from life, they often tell themselves, if the writer just gets out of the way & not trying to insert some agenda or judgement into it. It's all in the story, just as your poem says (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you, Margie.
I really appreciate your thoughtful review.
I was always searching for a secret in life, I guess there is none except that when life is over then the secret becomes clearer. I love your poem. I love the simple hidden meaning that life is simple we just make it hard on ourselves. Life is about simple things happiness, nature, just simple stuff. Not clothes, cars, houses, we cannot take those with us!

I liked this a lot, great inscription for a gravestone. With an added bit of lived life to the max and rolled with the flow of the good and bad and indifferent that came my way. Explored all. And learn from everything.

Life as a written book gives me the feeling of having no choices yet we make of life what we will and write the pages as we go along................ just my opinion of course dear poet-friend and I like the title you chose for we ourselves make the ongoing mystery.......thanks for this piece full of thoughtful meanings.
I think if there is no hidden secret it must be pretty boring. I really like discovery of unknown. If all be clear and without cover maybe life be more easy but we also will became very lazy cause there was nothing to discover .
Just trying to reveal to the world about my point of view about life. What I think life is and How I think we can overcome. Through my experience and challenges in life, I've been able to figure ou.. more..
