Be Grateful.

Be Grateful.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"

We have the legs that can walk around.
Our eyes in its sockets can see from afar.
If the vibration of air can bring us sounds,
Then we have the privilege that many don't have.

Some have charming eyes that couldn't see,
Some with there well shaped mouth but can't speak.
Some wish to walk around but can't do it.
So, the privilege we have are some people wishes.

Let not be too ungrateful to live with gratitude.
And let not abandoned the less privilege people.
They need our care to make them feel good.
For no one ever wish to be a cripple.

We do not truly appreciate our blessings. Wherever you go, there will always be others who are in a worse position. Strong message here Kay.

Not everyone tends to understand this.

You are welcome Kay.
In the USA, using the word "cripple" is considered derogatory. "Disabled" would be a more socially acceptable way to say it. Better to show instead of tell: "bird unable to take to the wing" . . . (or something like that). Other than that, your message is powerfully stated without sounding preachy at all. In my youth, I did hundreds of adventures, even riding my bicycle across the USA. Now in my old age, I am disabled with very painful legs from a neck injury, so I'm glad I followed your advice in your poem. I used my gifts when I had them, but now I'm grateful to have many stories that I need to write, now that I'm tethered to a more sedate lifestyle! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Gee
It is in the human nature to not appreciate what we have until the prospect arises of it being taken away.

Thank you very much, Gee.
But I wish they know in time before it becomes too late.

No matter how hard or bad it gets, there is always some one worse off .. a simple fact that should be remembered when the going feels tough... Nice one my friend... Neville

my very sincere pleasure ma'am :)
A very nicely poetically encapsulated sentiment as you urge us all to consider our good fortune compared with the fortune, or misfortune of others.
