On the subject of unconditional love...

On the subject of unconditional love...

A Poem by Kayli
"

My breakthrough poem.

"
No matter what I do, what I accomplish, it is never enough.
This pain is never through.

It all feels right.
I am truly happy-
My heart is full of light once again.
But part of it is filled with you.

You're gone, now. Took with you the ignorance that I would never change-
Negative if I could ever compliment who you are.

Here I stand, so much farther than before. Years ahead of where I should have been, but you let me jump off the edge.
I hit rock bottom, and I do not blame you.
I feel that deep down, you wanted to let me drown.
You knew I had to fall, for you know how I learn. Trial and error, even if it meant for me to burn.

Because of you, I am where I am.
I do what I do, I am who I am.
You're not here,
I do not think you ever will be-
but you are still in my heart. With you there, I have been able to push myself so far.

I wish you could see me,
but I know if you could, you would never look.

It is now that I realize you now only reside
as a page-turning chapter in the history book of my life.

If I could say one more thing to you-
it would be a thank you.
For the motivation to chase my dreams, and what unconditional love can really be.

All I can say, is if I was buying a book of poems that started at the top of your list and then worked its way down to this, I would be very happy with that buy.
It was a super intriguing tale, Very Well told IMHO and even though yes I am busy, I had to find my way here to this poem. I could not resist.
The last 2 I think need work. Overall it was a FANTASTIC trip. I think you have talent!
Best of luck. I'll read you lots.
