Love Bites

What would I give to touch you again?
To feel the warmth of your love?
What would I do to kiss you again?
To settle into your arms for the night?
To know that when I wake again from the dreams,
You'll be there next to me?
I can't go on like this.
Something's got to change
Or something's going to break.
Too much has already been crushed.
I can't go on like this.
It just hurts too much.
But what else can I do?
I can see no place for change.
So I'll continue being me.
I've gathered the pieces close enough,
I'll hide them under a smile.
No one wants to see pain,
They won't look that deep.
And I'll go on,
Sitting alone amongst the rubble,
Trying to fit all the pieces back in the puzzle.
