so shed a tear

razorblade romance
our hopes...
our dreams...
our love...
spread across the canvas
like a painter's palette
beautiful, the way they part
so strip away a part of me
leave me forever scarred
stitch the wounds
with a velvet kiss
and speak those words
that go like this
with a smile so wide
and steal the stars
away from the night
then heal the scars
that cut our skin
(straight through the heart)
you left a part of me
bleeding
for smiles to come
and lives to go
blackened suns
shed no light
sever the ties
that bound our lives
to our hearts
and take a listen
to this razorblade dialogue
tales of romance and love
knives and years lost
hollow sounds pave the way
for tears to stay, anyway
soundless screams
and other tired harmonies
tongue-tied conversations
always avoiding eye contact
that is what I call "tact"
I'm painting a picture of our lives
one day at a time
everything's engraved in red
there's blood everywhere

I try to make eye contact
but receive a broken smile
