Ballad of Dracula

Ballad of Dracula

A Poem by Kayla Gentry ( Kyrie Kerr)
"

I've always loved stories about Dracula and I loved the movie Van Helsing With Hugh Jackman so when I wrote this I was thinking of all the stories I'd read and all the movies I watched lol

"

Ballad of Dracula
Under the moon a shadow went
Walking smile, with black contempt.
His cloth was black, his lips were red,
With eyes that spoke of memories long dead.

With solemn paces did he stride,
As former demise was now denied.
Upon ancestral fortress did he stand
Strenght regained in blood-stained hand.

Aeonic sleep on death’s cold edge
An ancient loyalty, again to pledge
To restore bloodhunt of ages past
And regain strength of armies vast.

A setting sun, casting shadows
A cold shiver, hunting in the meadows.
Long forgotten demon, no longer kept asleep
Renewed bloodhunt, shadows in a haunted keep.

I like the old Dracula. The new and up to date version make him sweet and kind. I like the Dracula like you described. Hunger for power and thirst for blood was his goal. A powerful short poem. Thank you.
