Salem

Salem

A Poem by Kayla Gentry ( Kyrie Kerr)
"

A poem about the Salem Witch Trials

"

Salem

The flames hot lick at my feet

As I bury my toes

Into the hot coals.

The fire that resides pains me.

But the burns are nothing

But the wounds of the flesh.

Ashes cinder over bones.

And I feel my soul rise

Goodbye, witch, lets go.

Crimson hay left a scar

Where I stood.

Black smoke rose

To the violet heavens.

And the sun mourned the day

That came.

That day at Salem.

So horrible that this actually happened. I just saw The Crucible, and it's terrifying what they would do to eachother. Very well done.
