Save Your Breath

As I walked up to my friend Rein, I noticed it right away... Not only had I never seen that expression on her face, but her eyes were now blood red. I could tell she had  been crying. I quickly ran to give her a hug. As I wrapped my arms around her, she pushed me off. Knowing better then to make her upset, I backed off and left her in the shadows. "What's wrong Rein?" I whispered. I could see her shake her head back adn fourth as if to say "Nothing. All is fine." Things weren't fine though. My best friend was hurting. I needed to help her. I slowly walked back into the shadows. Suddenly, a mighty force knocked me to the ground. My hands flung to my cheek. A sharp pain raced through my side, as one hand grabbed my stomach. "I'm...I'm sorry" I heard her whisper faintly. When I looked up I saw two figures running through the forest. All that was left behind was a note that read...

'Jane,

     Please do not cry that I am gone. Remember me. Exactly how I was when you saw me today. That twisted expression and blood shot eyes. That is who I really am...
