I close my eyes

 

Feel my hands shake

I step onto the stage

 

The lights come on

It seems like a million people watching

I take the stage one last time

I can appreciate the fear and anxiety of making a public appearance. I have been so soul scalded about having to face even a small group that it was physically painful. I wonder if the last line is sincere? If there is ever really one last time. That you know about I mean. we promise ourselves never again but come back again and again to that fear facing place where we test ourselves against ourselves one last time.
