Quiet StepsA Poem by Penelope VoljetiI love the Pupils That look up at me As children looks at the stars Eyes wide, mouths open, hands Hanging at their sides. Smile That holds mine As the earth holds the moon And the moon pulls the oceans To its pretend luminescence. Skin, That tells stories Written in little fading lines In places only she can Make more raw. Chest That pulses under her shirt When I tell her she's beautiful And she smiles. Hands That glide on my body Like the blades on ice skates Making lines in the flooded grass behind My house. Her.
