Him

Him

A Poem by ^_^KiTTeN^_^

She smells his anger,
burning in his blood.
Her body
begins to shake,
knowing what is to come.

She hears his voice,
slowly becoming louder,
speaking of what
she has done wrong.
She covers her ears,
trying to block out his cruel words.

She sees him,
coming closer,
reaching out to touch her.
She begins to relax,
thinking maybe this time
she will be okay.
She soon realizes
just how wrong she is
when his touch
turns into a hit.

She tastes the blood
in her mouth,
tears springing to her eyes.
She cries out,
but no one can hear her.
She tries
to move away,
when he raises his hand again,
but finds herself
frozen in fear.

She feels herself being shaken,
and her eyes pop open.
She finds that she is home,
in her room,
and slowly begins to remember
that he is gone.
What has just happened
is just a nightmare
from her past.

good redince to put him in the past. You should rename the title to something different like "nightmare" or "He who punishes." just a thought.
