One Last Kiss to Cave the WorldA Poem by A Glow in the Pit of My SoulOne day our bones will be brittle with the weight of all we've lived and our skin will pucker and fold, soft and paper thin from stretching ourselves too far and wide, threadbare, faded, and full of stories. One day we’ll crumble, collapsing upon each other giving in to the pressure of gravity beckoning and calling to rest our heads, just so, and leaving behind our fragile frames that once sang ballads of passion and furor, now whittled down into a simple song of peace and purity. They will find us as the sunlight beams brightly through the shades a shimmering entanglement of collarbones and gold, sharp breaths will hit their slumbering lungs like a cut from finer blades a peculiar stunning spectacle is what they shall behold for encased within our rib-cages are not our hearts of flesh but brilliant shining diamonds will be all that is left. And burned into the ivory are words too true and whole
