HumA Poem by A Glow in the Pit of My Soul
Feeling really strange
like the electric charge thrumming in the still air right before a mid-summer’s thunderstorm. It’s not looming disaster, but its no sunny day, either. Still, I lean out the window to catch the first drops of rain on my fingertips. My heart is a balloon attached to the hose in your un-mowed backyard and I’m growing and e x p a n d i n g but my skin is stretched so thin, I’m almost translucent and I’m praying that I don’t split open before I’m filled. © 2015 A Glow in the Pit of My Soul |
