One of the strangest things about having a disability...

A blog post I wrote that I thought sounded a bit poetic and so I thought I would share it here.

Full title: One of the strangest things about having a disability that has no cognitive impact but severe physical impacts, (and having siblings) is how much you live vicariously.

Don't you love Google?

I just used it to check that I was using the right words when writing the title for this post. I've used it several times this evening, to find out information for situations I've never been in, will likely never be in. But believe me when I say I know a lot about them.

Believe me when I say you don't always have to be in a situation to know what to do in a situation... Or do you?My brain seems to know the blueprints for a life I will never live. And my friends, my family, give me glimicies into that life, like windows.Windows peering onto a risen Court Yard. With steps I will never be able to clime.Oh how I hate steps.

But I see this life, sometimes I'm asked for advice on this life. Given access to part of this life, because it would cost to much money to make it completely accessible. So I take what I can get... Don't I?

Or is it that I take what I am willing to let myself have... What I think I deserve... What others will allow.

Who am I?

Am I only what others will allow me to be? Aren't we all?

But don't you just love Google? With Google, I am granted some insight, enough insight, to inhabit a world.
This word.
