Cages

Cages

A Poem by DarkStar

I'm trapped by body always,
Even when I'm free.
I'm held back by this lack of control,
That terrifies me.

I can be fine, and still stuck.
And you see, but ignore, the chains you can't break.
I'm not asking to feel sorry for me,
I don't know what I'm asking for. F**k it's feels late.

I'm used to the trap, the chains, the pain,
The thought of being free is a dream.
In the dream I'm still trapped, in freedom's illusion.
I will die, alone, it seems.

I've heard it said we're all trapped, maybe it's true.
But your cage seems bigger than mine.
Our cages are relative, in size and restriction.
But we are all trapped, on the inside.

Fabulous piece of writing!

The feeling of being trapped by life, relationships, friendships, work, family and more is a common theme in anyone's existence. I believe anyone who reads this can relate to how you are feeling. Keep expanding on this theme in the future... it is something that can inspire change, and quite possibly, a doorway out of this trap. Cheers!
