A trap

A trap

A Poem by DarkStar

A trap is set,
The bait is laid,
The fall is quick,
The dragon slayed.

You asked to be caught,
Begged for the safety,
To be needed by someone,
It's all you've wanted lately.

And in the moments where you doubt,
The trap, you yourself did set,
Remember love is more, my friend,
Than waiting for regret.

This is a good piece. My only comment is that there is a spelling/grammar error in the first stanza, fourth line. "sleighed" is not a word (a sleigh is what Santa rides in)... I believe you mean to use the verb "to slay" which means "to kill". So "The dragon slayed." would be correct. Cheers!
