I grieve for the life that never was, or could ever be

I grieve for the life that never was, or could ever be

A Poem by DarkStar
"

Grief for the me, that I wanted to be

"
I grieve for a life that never was, or could ever be.
And yet it feels so real,
As real as you are to me.

I grieve for a life that never was, or could ever be.
And yet the flashbacks are so true,
As real as me looking at you.

I grieve for a world that does not exist,
A world you cannot see.
I grieve for a life that never was, or could ever be.

In this life, I am me, a better version there of,
In this life, you are you, the same, still filled with love.
In this life, we are happy, together, no hills to climb.
In this life, we are one, forever, for all time.
In this life, I am no burden, I am the me, I should of been.
In this life, the world is brighter, the grass is surely green.

But as I drift to dream land, leave reality behind.
I come to realise we might not have met, if born on a different kind.
For what is sad, and what is bad, were the reasons we first, met,
And the dream that we are living now, has no ending, yet.

DarkStar
First two stanzas are from my last poem 'Grief', that makes this a continuation of that poem I suppose. I hope you enjoy, and thanks for reading. :)
