Inner State of Mind: Final Moments, Final Thoughts

Inner State of Mind: Final Moments, Final Thoughts

A Poem by Koari
"

Third installment of this series. I can't find words to describe this piece, but I'm sure you will figure it out.

"
Falling, falling,
falling at lightning speed.
She closes her eyes,
and imagines that she is flying.

Flying away from her pain,
the tears falling down her face.
As she reaches the bottom,
her soul takes its final flight.

Bleeding, bleeding,
the color red stains his world.
He closes his eyes,
and pretends his arms are waterfalls.

Flowing away are his past regrets,
the waterfall of crimson red.
As he feels the life drain from his veins,
he lets out one final breath.

Fading, fading,
suspended in mid air.
She refuses to struggle,
and imagines that she is in space.

Fading away is the life she lived,
the constant struggles she had to face.
As the darkness closes in,
she closes her eyes for the last time.

Gulping, gulping,
swallowing every pill I have.
I sink into the pillows on my bed,
and imagine that I am a ship.

A ship full of holes, battered and torn,
sinking under the harsh waves of the world.
As I feel my body shutting down,
I whisper, "be still... my beating heart."

Author's Note

Koari
I just had a lot of people talking to me about how they want to end their lives, and so I just had to write something to release my emotions. Hopefully I'll write a more uplifting poem soon.

I love the last two stanzas, dear poet, very empathetic. You place yourself in the pain and sorrow of a weary life. Your poem is an expression of inspiration, whether it is uplifting or gloomy it still blossoms from the purity of inspiration. Thank you for sharing with us, dear Koari.
