inner me

inner me

A Story by kayBiE

Walking in the shadows of death

dark

blinded by the fog

not so long ago the light was shining bright

till the clouds decided to stand in it's way

walking in the mud

soothing my dry feet

wandering why i am still standing tall

guess not all mud is swamp

i expected to fall

but instead the spaces between my toes

met with the forever wet sand

i just made a friend

she is a ghost and she looks exactly like me

my afro hair, caramel skin tone,

pouting like lips,hour glass body

bedroom eyes

and my charm

she offered to walk me home

said she saw how lonely i was

asked why i don't believe in myself

can't i see how beautiful i am

I'm your reflection and i won't ever leave you

and she pleaded:

"let me mend your pain and put you back together again

can't you see the pieces of yourself all over the floor?

and you wonder why people make fun of you."
