Skin colourA Poem by kayBiE
Am I described by the colour of my skin?
Or are my curves the highlight, but over looked because she's thin? Isn't it democracy that we living in? If it is then why do I feel so uncomfortable in this world I'm living in? She's light skinned and I darker, Does it mean that she's a lot smarter? will she earn more because your perception of her lighter skin makes you believe that she'll do the job better? Or will my knowledge make you acknowledge me a little more than her? Is that the reason why society only bows before your feet? Your skin colour determines who will stay or fleet? Or is it maybe the race that leaves us in deceit? Either way we all will never quit fit Apartheid was fought a long time ago Yet till today we still discriminating against our own. Still wonder why dogs owned by people of different colour Barks when a person of different colour walks by, Colour has caused hate between each other. Is colour what divides us? Or are we still stuck in past And letting change be inevitable? When will we finally be responsible, And stop pointing fingers and for once say:" it's my fault? "
