missing: you

missing: you

A Poem by Kay

it’s not quite a knot in my stomach;

the condition is much larger, a trembling black planet

twisting at its core, dizzying itself senselessly.

sometimes it extends two strong hands upwards

onto my unsuspecting heart,

and yanks at the arteries roughly.

it does this when i’m unoccupied,

making a bedroom for time, an open window for thought,

to just stop and miss you.

the cure cannot exist for this category of illness;

i will simply bury myself in empty activity,

constantly moving, immensely busy,

busy as a buried bee.

if only anything would end the tears.

I am always fan of your the way you connect a notion to some quality and make it look good, "making a bedroom for time, an open window for thought". Missing someone and something is always miserable. each line of the poem is coherent and moving towards the same,"a trembling black planet
twisting at its core, dizzying itself senselessly" to "i will simply bury myself in empty activity,
constantly moving, immensely busy"
and finally the best simile "busy as a buried bee".
thanks, Kay, for sharing this poem!
