![]() Lost ShipA Poem by KayThe crow-shedded cinders of his words drowned in my ears. I swallowed hard; scalding acid crawled along the ladders of my lash-spears. Poor soul - thrashing in suffocating disposition out ashore. Can I save him with a scooping hold, or will he carry trauma memory forevermore? How do you erase pain that has been tattooed hideously into the brain’s delicate center? Can my love in this little bottle dismantle the subaqueous injury tormentor? If there is anyone up there hearing an unimportant person’s prayer, please will you fulfill this wish: Make him smile - laugh - shed sugared tears when he reminisces. To seek hope in an immeasurable universe, perhaps this will go unheard and unattended. Still, I hope - I hope with an unfaltering heart extended. Stars above, vibrant and happily blinking, would you send some of your tender light? Guide him into bloodless dreams and luminous thoughts in dismal night. When all else collapses and crumbles, I am determined to unflinchingly stand; Like the beacon dedicated to lost ship, guiding him to the security of sand. © 2017 Kay |
