A Poem by Kay

if you fell off the edge, i’d jump -

    billions

             of

                 miles

                        no hesitation

.. to cushion your fall.

i’d close my eyes to a portrait of your face

the air of your beauty

intoxicating my lungs.

every flutter of your lips

no sound, just quiet memory,

would draw my tears;

may they fly above to

warm your descent.

the world cannot hurt really hurt you,

because of your indestructible shield -

i love you so hard,

nothing can break me.

let the sticks and stones gather

against my one-woman Trojan army,

me versus all pain.

i wear black, blue and red

uniform as i shelter you

night and day.

falling fast through the atmosphere

my hands close where yours fit.

whatever my destiny

i give myself to you.

plunging into the depths,

the hazy unknown,

i pray in my heart every second

that you know just how much

you mean to me.
