Alone in a Forest of Lights

Alone in a Forest of Lights

A Poem by Kay

alone in a forest of lights

sirens, shattered beer bottles

i suck back tears like wind

through leafy fingertips

a loneliness so isolating

mountains echo

the process of toughening up

is unluckily slow

beating in the unfamiliar

and healing happens too late
