Inner Self

Inner Self

A Poem by KawaiiTaco
"

A poem about how a person will destroy who they are for the sake of remaining a part of society.

"
Living a lifeless dream
She awaits the opening of a door
That will set her free
From the monotonous rhythm
Of the everyday routine,
Where she says an expected hello
And gives a fake smile,
All while keeping her inner thoughts hidden.
This for the sake,
Of keeping fake friends,
She slowly kills away her individuality.
The person she was
No longer puts up resistance,
For the person she pretends to be
Is all she has left.
And quietly she folds into the mesh.
