Where is He?

Where is He?

A Poem by KAVIBES

Where is God when you need him?
Sons and daughters on their knees in prayer
How do you know he can hear em?
She's screaming his name with her face so wet
Wondering why loving her makes them so upset
They said we are of sin
But he can't take anymore marks against his skin
Their voices fill my brain and haunt my ears
You told me I was okay, that there was nothing to fear
I don't believe you since you won't even look me in the eye
I loved you, needed you when I was dying
He made another excuse for the bruises on his chest
Her skin is showing in order to impress
This needle in my vein gives me life in death
That man is starving, hoping to get a meal before his last breath
She wanted to fly but instead she fell six feet
Sweetie, we all got demons to beat
Forced to live a life wearing a mask
You said you know God and I just gotta ask
How am I of greater evil
When you are indeed the Devil
I don't need God to know what is wrong with this picture
But I still question why you had to deceit me
And tell me that heaven wasn't for me
You see, I always wondered
How God came to you to degrade us
When he was really supposed to come and save us

Author's Note

KAVIBES
This poem wasn't written to belittle religion. I wrote this poem to express what I see when some people mix religion with ignorance. I've come across a lot of people in my life that have said a lot of hateful things and used God's name to cover their spite and that was my inspiration for this poem since I don't commit myself to any specific religion. So please don't leave any comments about God or try to sway my way of thinking, if you don't like it or appreciate it, I'm sorry but this is my poem so it's going to stay the way I wrote it and I won't change it.

I don't like religion for that reason myself. alas, when people hear you say "I have no religion", they seem to think that as an opener to try and convert you, and a religion based around getting as many followers as possible, is no better than facebook :P thanks for writing :)

Wonderful! I won't say I do not believe in God, I do. But yes, at times of pain we do want to cry alound and question him or want justification of things happening around. Well depicted observation through poem.

I'm actually a Christian myself, but ignorant "Christians" who shame others to make themselves feel high and mighty are what I hate about religion, mainly Christianity. Your poem was very well written and I loved how it flowed while telling a different story line after line, but never straying away from the point. It was very touching and might be eye opening to someone needing to see a different side of the spectrum.
