If I die young

If I die young

A Poem by Katy Stash

Take me in a river
At dawn
Play me all your love songs
I'll take it back from the start
Just to be the same again
You're my rainbow in a rainy day
You're my colour on a black background
You're my sun on my cloudy sky
Make me smile every morning
Even though you know I'm sad
If I die young
Please don't cry
Tears will turn into stones
Take me back
In a river
Where dawn comes like a mantle
So if I die young
Please don't cry
Tears will turn into stones
And I'm gonna turn into dust
If my love won't be enough
Then I'll write it on the sky line
If I die young
Please don't cry
Tears will turn into stones

Sad but beautiful. I love the line, 'tears will turn into stones'.

Quite a sad write. Very beautiful though. I like the repeating line, turns will turn into stones. Brought the poem together very well.
