Wars and disastears

Wars and disastears

A Poem by Katy Stash

People dying
Families crying
Wars and disasters
Will make world collapse
Orphan children left in the streets
And thousand of broken hearts
Kids watching the skies
And asking "When my daddy will come home?"
Dads leaving their children
Wondering if they'll ever come home
Scars are healing
But the soul never heals
Even though you try
Kids and disasters
Promises and fights
You're moving forward
Trying to fight with your worst enemy
Pain
Thousand of dreams had been vanished away
Girls who wanted to be lead at the altar
By their fathers
And see how their kids are growing up
Promise yourself you'll survive no matter what
How's when you get everyday
A letter from your love
Sending you pictures of your little girl that grows up each day
It gives you strenght
Just to survive
To come back home
To hold your little girl

wow! Very well said. you can always tell if something is well written if you can feel emotions from a poem .Or if it brings back memories. in this case, the poem reminded me of when my dad was in iraq war and how confused i was. i didnt know when he was coming back
