Chapter 7A Chapter by GirlpuppyFinal Chapter of Part 1Chapter 7 It’s not surprising Chase
missed a good majority of the time. What was surprising was that the three of
them made it to the long hallway leading towards the main computer room. It wasn’t easy, of course. First, the receptionist had to be
killed, (Sara claimed she had wanted to do that for a long time.) and then they
had to shoot the onslaught of oncoming of guards. Chase wasn’t the best, but
Glue and Sara were well trained. Speed had to be high as well. If they weren’t
fast, they weren’t living. But they were, and they made it to the long, white-chrome
hallway, where guards were waiting. The hall way was littered with filing
cabinets, and Glue quickly pushed one over. Shoving the girls behind it, He
began to fire. He managed to take about 5 of them down before diving behind the
cabinet. “Now what?!” Chase had to yell to be heard above the bullets
and shouting. Sara and Glue kept randomly shooting the guards. “Well, this seems to be working.” Sara commented, taking
another one down. “Yes, but my next memory is bound to be soon! We can’t wait
any longer.” Chase reached over and gave Sara a big hug. “Sara, you are my best
friend. I love you. Please don’t stop after I’m gone.” Chase whispered fiercely
in her ear. Sara could only nod as tears poured down her cheeks, leaving them
blotchy. Chase stood up. “All right you b******s! Come and get me!”
She screamed, throwing herself at the guards. All of them pushed forward, eager
to be the one who catch the girl who got away. Sara took her chance and slipped
passed them. One noticed, but with a well aimed shot, he was dead. Glue grabbed Chase from the back of her shirt and pulled her
back quickly. Bullets whizzed past her. As she was being pulled back, she let
loose an onslaught of bullets, and killed a few MIGs. A bullet grazed Glue’s arm, and one grazed Chase’s leg, but
they both made it out alive. Glue fired 7 rounds quickly, and all but one or
two hit its mark. That left about 5 guards. And Sara had made it into the
computer room with no one the wiser. Gritting her teeth, Chase leaned back against the cabinet,
suppressing a cry of pain from her wound. Glue took deep breathes, trying to
ignore the bullets flying overhead. Chase closed her eyes, and felt a stabbing
pain in her head. “This is it!” She cried hoarsely, and closed her eyes
tightly. Glue watched as her breathing quickened, then slowed as if she was
asleep. Her lips moved quickly, to fast for him to catch any words. He knew his
part had come. He stood up, and shot the last of the bullets. One guard was
left standing. Glue smiled grimly. “Hand to hand, eh?” Glue dropped his gun, and ran to tackle
the remaining guard. He still had a fully loaded gun. He fired his rounds,
desperately, trying to avoid the oncoming man. One lodged itself deep into
Glue’s arm. He let out a howl of pain, but kept running. He tackled the guard,
and sent the gun scattering. He rolled over, and snatched it up. Glue pulled
the trigger. Dropping the gun, Glue began to run towards Chase. He saw
her, and let out a cry of deep horror. She lay in a small pool of blood,
twitching. “Chase? CHASE!” He screamed, shaking her shoulders. Eyes
fluttering open, she coughed up a small amount of blood. “Oh thank God! Chase, we need to get to the hospital, we
can-” She shook her head. “No. Need to keep going.” Her voice was weak, and had
a nasty gurgling sound. Glue, crying,
nodded. He scooped her frail frame into his arms, and ran past the bodies,
murmuring soft words to her. He practically broke the door down. Sara didn’t
look up. “I’ve tried everything! Every key lock, every combination
possible, nothing!” She cried, banging a fist on the computer screen. Chase’s
eyes scanned the room, wondering why it was so familiar. It’s the room were
you woke up. She realized with a pang. No more boxes lined the walls, and
the older gentleman was no longer there, but it was defiantly the room. “Sara, its Chase.” Glue sobbed. Sara looked up and screamed. They lay the dying girl on
the floor. “Chase, Chase baby, stay with me!” Glue pleaded, wiping tears
from Chase’s eyes. Chase only shook her
head. “Please!” Was all Sara managed through her body racking sobs.
Chase coughed slightly, then whispered hoarsely, “Chase…” Sara nodded. “Yea
Chase, stay with us.” Chase shook her head. “Chase…” She lifted her finger feebly, and pointed vaguely
towards the computer. The two followed her gaze. A little cry escaped Sara’s
lips. She jumped and ran towards the
computer. Glue stared at her uneasily,
then towards the dying girl on the ground. Holding his gaze towards Chase, he
called out, “Sara? What the hell is going on?” “The password!! The password is five letters or numbers. I’ve
tried everything, numbers, acronyms, and names, EVERYTHING I know about Dr.Crepe!
But there was nothing that would pass through the system. It all makes sense
now! Why she remembered that name!” Sara cried out gleefully. “What the hell are you going on about?!” Glue yelled angrily,
eyes not leaving Chase, whose eyes were still open, and smile on her blood
covered lips. “Her name! Her name is the password we need to get into the
computer! She WAS the key, like she said! That’s why they wanted her dead.
Because Chase knew!” Sara screamed happily. Then Chase let out a gurgle. Their eyes darted to Chase. She
started to breathe less quickly. Tears formed in all the eyes. “This is it, then?” Sara whispered. Chase could only nod. “Chase… Thank you.” Glue left it simple. He wasn’t much for showing
anything but rage. Tears flowed down his face freely, something that didn’t
even happen when Demetrius died. Chase shook her head sadly. “Not… Chase…” She gurgled. “My
name… is… Rachel.” A small smiled played on Rachel’s bloody lips. With one
final Gurgling breath, she took her friends hands. Her deep blue eyes grew wide
and glassy. Rachel Chase was dead. End of Part 1 © 2010 GirlpuppyAuthor's Note
