The aftermath of a break up

The aftermath is painful
i hear you cry my name
and ask for a second chance

I don't think i can go through the hurt twice though
once was enough
the aftermath is painful

We thought we would last forever
but the distance got the best of us and our dreams

The aftermath has hurt us both
but we need to move on
and not cry over broken dreams

Our hearts have been shattered,
we need time apart to mend them ourselves
else they will always be shattered
